Huawei Watch GT 2 rumored to launch with Global Positioning System and slimmer bezels

These comparisons have come from Roland Quandt at Winfuture who obtained the images and used measurements from these to compare with the first generation Watch GT.

Huawei Watch GT 2 is the upcoming successor to the existing Huawei Watch GT smartwatch. They were announced earlier in March.

Now the Huawei Watch GT 2 press images have leaked and once again it is not running Wear OS. Just like the existing Huawei Watch GT lineup, there will be multiple editions of Huawei Watch GT 2.

Meanwhile, the classically styled Huawei Watch GT 2 features a more traditional watch face, albeit still showing the time, day and date, plus a second time zone, step count and calories burned on three circular complications laid out like a chronograph. The edge of the watch isn't smaller but looks a bit thinner. We now have a larger display with slimmer bezels and a more compact construction, which still allowed Huawei to equip it with a larger, 445mAh battery.

No information on the specs and features have been provided yet but we're assuming the watch will be an upgraded version of the Huawei Watch GT Active.

Global Positioning System is still built-in, as is the optical heart rate monitor, and as you can see from the pictures you will get a choice of two styles. However, it is unclear whether an LTE connection will be available. Choose between the Sport version with a plastic strap and the Classic version with a leather strap. What's new is that Huawei has now integrated a microphone and a speaker in the Watch GT 2. The new Huawei smartwatch will probably arrive in the coming weeks together with the Huawei Mate 30 or at the IFA 2019.
