WhatsApp beta for Android introduces fingerprint lock feature

As mentioned above, the feature is now available for beta users.

When you've installed version 2.19.221, you should see the Fingerprint lock option in Settings Privacy, but it may also be linked to a server-side switch, so don't panic if you don't get it straight away.

The report said this new feature would aid in banning underage users, although it is unclear how the company will detect who does not meet the age requirement. If you're using beta then you can head to Settings Account Privacy to enable Fingerprint Unlock.

Trump 'not thrilled' with strong USA dollar, says it hurts manufacturing
According to Trump, the interest rate level held high by the Fed keeps the Dollar high compared to other countries. While the Fed has yet to move at the pace Trump wants, his recent moves against China may force their hand.

If you're simultaneously anxious about security and putting your messaging app widget on your home screen though, then you probably aren't really that anxious by security. If you cannot gain access to the Google Play beta programme to get the version, you could alternatively sideload the APK via APK Mirror. Alternatively, you can simply opt to be patient for a little while longer. Similar to the Authentication feature on iOS, users can still reply to messages from the notifications shade and answer calls, even when the app is locked. There are also three options to lock WhatsApp - immediately, after 1 minute and after 30 minutes. Just follow the steps given below and you will be done in no time. There's also a new "show content in notifications" option added allowing users to decide if they want to show or hide message and sender preview when the fingerprint lock is enabled. The widget content is hidden by default if the latter is enabled. It is important to note that this Fingerprint Lock feature is available for Android Beta users only.

WhatsApp has been talking about the Dark Mode since a year ago and there are still no signs of it coming to our beloved messenger app.

Another departure to how the feature, dubbed Screen Lock, works on iOS is the difference in the options available for when the fingerprint lock kicks in. "WhatsApp is working on the feature in the last few days".
