Former Indian Finance Minister Arun Jaitley dies at 66

In May this year, Jaitley was admitted to AIIMS for treatment.

Former finance minister and senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley passed away Saturday after battling a two-year-long illness.

Jaitley, who was admitted to the AIIMS on August 9, has been in the hospital's ICU since then as he was critical but haemodynamically stable - a term that in medical parlance means that his heart rate and blood circulation are under manageable levels. We travelled to Amritsar to witness whether Mr Jaitley has been able to transform himself from backroom strategist to mass politician, even as he juggles the role of the BJP's main firefighter.

Jaitley was diabetic and had bariatric - weight-loss surgery - in 2014, received a kidney transplant in 2018 and travelled to the United States last January for unspecified medical care.

The news of his death has sent a shockwave in all over the country as the people, as well as the celebs, are mourning the tragic demise.

"It is with profound grief that we inform about the sad demise of Shri Arun Jaitley".

Jaitley, who was said to be critical, was reportedly put on life support.

Spider-Man Could Leave MCU if Disney, Sony Can’t Reach Financing Deal
But before we beat on Sony like usual, we should also take note that Disney gets the revenue to all Spider-Man merchandise. Consequently, Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige will have nothing to do with the next two Spider-Man movies.

Former Indian Finance Minister Arun Jaitley passed away on Saturday.

The BJP lost another veteran party leader and former minister of external affairs when Sushma Swaraj died after a cardiac arrest earlier this month. In a series of tweets, Prime Minister Modi said, Jaitley was a political giant, towering intellectual and legal luminary.

Former prime minister Manmohan Singh called Jaitley "an eminent lawyer, an excellent orator, a very good administrator, and an outstanding Parliamentarian". He lived well, leaving us all with innumerable happy memories.

Chinese envoy in India, Sun Weidong also conveyed his condolences to the departed leader's family members.

President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, the entire leadership of the BJP including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister and party president Amit Shah, working president JP Nadda, and Congress president Sonia Gandhi, son Rahul Gandhi, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal among others visited the BJP leader's residence to express their condolences.

Advani said that Jaitley's demise is not only a huge loss to the BJP, but also to the nation.
