Dwayne Johnson is Forbes' highest paid male actor in the world

Dwayne Johnson just claimed the top spot as the highest paid male actor for the second time in a row.

This is a based on a breakdown of his earnings from June 1, 2018 to June 1, 2019. For example, the world's highest-paid CEO is John Hammergreen of McKesson, who makes roughly $131.2 million a year, and the highest-paid athlete is soccer player Lionel Messi, who brings in $127 million.

The 47-year-old former wrestler and Fast And Furious actor elbowed out several Marvel stars to reclaim the top spot in Forbes' annual list. Also, for his work on the small screen, Dwayne takes in $700,000 per episode of HBO show "Ballers" and earns seven figures in royalties from clothing brand "Under Armour".

Almost every film the 51-year-old actor has been a part of since Airlift in 2016 has found a place in the 100 crore club with the only exception being Pad Man that fell short of a few crores. The figures are based on data from Nielsen, ComScore, Box Office Mojo and IMDB, as well as interviews with industry sources. ($66 million) in third place, Canadian-Indian actor Akshay Kumar ($65 million) taking fourth place and finally Jackie Chan ($58 million).

Although we only had one Canadian representing us, it sure is awesome to see him take over the number one spot on such a prestigious list - we can only hope to see more Canadian faces next year!
