Barcelona close to giving up on Neymar over PSG demands

Paris Saint-Germain had been linked with a transfer for Ivan Rakitic past year and had apparently bid even 70 million euros for him, but Barcelona's board displayed its incompetence yet again and rejected that.

After months of speculation, Sky Italy journalist Gianluca di Marzio has confirmed the two parties have finally reached an amicable outcome over a transfer fee and the players included in the historic deal.

Those are the chief reports out of Europe, where everyone seems to agree PSG has asked for $143 million plus permanent signings of Ivan Rakitic and Jean-Clair Todibo, and also Ousmane Dembele on loan.

However, Barcelona studied PSG's proposal and refused to give in to their demands. Or Barca refused Paris Saint-Germain's offer this week.

Sri Lanka to play limited-overs series in Pakistan in Sept
Recently, the SLC got a "very positive feedback" from a security delegation that visited Karachi and Lahore. Eight years later, the Sri Lankans returned to Pakistan for a Twenty20 global in Lahore in October 2017.

The problem, Balague says, is that all three players have rejected the move, as things stand. However, if the Ligue 1 giants are still interested in Rakitic's services, then a deal for Neymar could be agreed soon and nobody but the La Liga giants will be the winners out of it.

"Dembele's agent recently said he is '200%' staying at Barcelona".

This has been one of the most complicated transfer sagas possibly ever, and even just a few days before Monday's European transfer deadline there is still much to be sorted out.

While the move is seemingly close to completion, Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde admits he will be glad to see the transfer window close on September 2.
