OJ Simpson Joins Twitter

OJ Simpson recently made his Twitter debut. "I've got a little getting even to do", he said with a smile. I got some getting even to do.

Simpson went on to explain he'd be posting his thoughts and opinions on "just about everything".

The following day, he posted another clip of himself standing in a luxurious backyard where which he stated: "Hey Twitter world, you know, for years people have been able to say whatever they wanna say about me with no accountability".

Simpson's attorney, Malcolm LaVergne, confirmed in an email that his client created the Twitter account - TheRealOJ32 - as a tool to speak directly to his online audience.

Simpson created his official account on Friday, June 14, with the username @TheRealOJ32-a reference to his jersey number from his National Football League fame days. His account @TherealOJ32, has already amassed almost 250k followers in just 24 hours. So, it should be a lot of fun.

"Oj simpson joining twitter the week of the 25th anniversary of nicole brown's murder sure is, uh, something", another user wrote.

Simpson has continued to declare his innocence of the two murders. OJ became the prime suspect in the murders and his trial gained worldwide attention.

The murders, oddly, happened on June 12, 1994 - nearly exactly 25 years before Simpson chose to "speak out" to a new audience.

"Mr. Simpson is the most positive person I've ever met", LaVergne told CNN on Saturday. But in a sharp contrast to Simpson's series of casual posts, sent from golf courses and sunny backyards, it's Kim Goldman that's gaining traction on the internet.

Simpson, 71, has generally kept a low profile since his release from prison in October 2017 for robbery and kidnapping over an attempt to steal back some of his sports memorabilia from a Las Vegas hotel room. Simpson has officially joined Twitter.

Simpson was controversially acquitted of the double-murder of his ex-wife Nicole Brown-Simpson and Ron Goldman in 1995, but later found responsible for the murders in a civil lawsuit in 1997 - the latter of which included a $33.5 million judgement against Simpson and in favor of Brown and Goldman's families.
