Google Launches Pixel 3a Phone for $399

Google announced the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL today at Google I/O, just as we all expected them to. Some of the new features include using the camera to enable AR search results, navigating Pixel phones with the Google Assistant, and captions for nearly any video - with no internet needed to create them.

However, in the mid-range market Google hopes it can leverage its software prowess to offer something more appealing than Chinese rivals such as Huawei's Honor and Samsung's mid-range A series.

The new Google Pixel 3a phone is the anti-iPhone. The company is also expected to provide an update on its future cloud gaming service Stadia, announced during the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco last March. The Pixel 3a appears to have an identical feature set to the more expensive Pixel 3 and 3 XL.

Interestingly enough, Pixel 3a promotional materials leaked as well and include references to a fast-charging battery, long battery life, Night Vision mode, Portrait mode and more.

Anyone who owns a Pixel smartphone can now try out this latest addition which uses clever augmented reality to show directions on the screen - ending the nightmare of working out which way you need to go.

With eight minutes to go, Kostas Manolas completed the comeback to spark remarkable scenes of celebration at the Stadio Olimpico. Robertson was just trying to rattle Messi, which a lot of players have tried down the years but not many have succeeded.

Rumors surrounding the device is that since the phone might be based on the mid-range Snapdragon 660/670 chipset and feature the same software and hardware camera prowess of the pixel line-up. They have the same rear-facing fingerprint sensor as the existing Pixel phones. The US pricing of the Pixel 3a is a lot more generous, starting at $399. It will have the Always-on Display and Always-listening features. Alternatively, you can use a physical SIM card - you'll find the SIM tray on the upper left side of the phone. Both phones will be available in Just Black, Clearly White, and Purple-ish color options.

Price: The price of Pixel 3a will be roughly around Rs 27,000 and Pixel 3a XL will be available for approximately Rs 33,000.

The device will have 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage paired with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 670 octa-core processor and Adreno 615 GPU. There is unlimited Google Photos storage for all those high-quality images and videos too.

It is worth noting that earlier today reports emerged suggesting earphones won't be included in the box (the Pixel 3a comes with a headphone jack unlike the Pixel 3 line), but the spec sheet here seems to indicate earphones will be included in the box. Google sided with Verizon as its official launch partner but the device will also be coming to T-Mobile, Sprint, and US Cellular.
