Durant leaves with right calf strain

Warriors F Kevin Durant did not return to Game 5 on Wednesday night after what the Warriors called a right-calf strain. After undergoing an MRI, it was clear that Durant had a right calf strain which will keep him out of the rest of the second-round. (Pacific) tonight. The team holds a 3-2 series lead and, though without starters Kevin Durant and DeMarcus Cousins, looks it close-out tonight.

The only thing I can think of is this was the moment Harden's usage-heavy season - he led the league with a 40.5 usage percentage, over seven percent higher than the No. 2 player, Joel Embiid - might have physically caught up.

"Well, we'll need minutes from both of them and we'll see how the game goes", Kerr said. "We've always done well at home and we just have to keep it that way". Houston is 5-0 at home this postseason.

"The series has been a battle", Klay Thompson said.

"It's the playoffs, it's the ultimate test". We scored every time that he was kind of quiet. "We'll see what happens in the next couple days". That's the way the basketball gods can be.

The Rockets had been hopeful of seeing Durant on the court Friday.

But Harden believes good defense will be the key to keeping this series going.

"And at the end of the day, our principle pretty much stays the same", Curry said. "It's plain and simple". You can't ... nitpick, overanalyze the game. "We didn't get stops when we needed to".

Durant's status for Game 6 is unclear. Tipoff from the Toyota Center is scheduled for 9 p.m. ET.

Curry must re-emerge as the alpha scorer and lead playmaker, running more pick-and-rolls and taking on a heavier shot load. Not that he's lost any confidence in letting it fly - from anywhere. He finished with 22 points in 32 minutes.

"I thought he played a monster game". "After the match, their manager Jurgen Klopp said, 'The young kids in Liverpool are probably asleep by now, so I'm just going to go ahead and say it, but our boys are f - ing giants.' I know how he feels". The only game in this series they have made more three-pointers.

Durant suffered the injury after pulling up for a jumpshot along the baseline.

"I mean, [Harden] does whatever we need to be done", Rockets coach Mike D'Antoni said.

KEEP AN EYE ON: Rebounds. Durant is a 10-time All-Star. Paul managed a playoff-low 11 points on 3 of 14 shooting and went 0 for 6 on 3-pointers. "We still have a lot of weapons and can create good offense through that type of attack. So let's go out there and let it rip".
