Announced last October, Amazon's Alexa Guard feature has finally arrived in the USA, turning Echo speakers across the country into loyal watchdogs. Fast forward to today and Amazon is introducing a similar feature as part of its ' Alexa Guard' for Echo devices. When you're about to leave the house, you need to say "Alexa, I'm leaving" to enable the Guard mode. The device will then listen for sounds like breaking glass, or smoke or carbon monoxide alarms.
As previously mentioned, Amazon is just starting to roll out Alexa Guard more widely, so don't be surprised if it isn't showing up yet.
REMOTE CONTROL -- Control your electrical items via your phone whenever and wherever you are after downloading the FREE APP Smart Life as long as there is a network.
The revamped Echo Dot has a new look, with rounded edges, and packs more punch, with a 1.6-inch driver delivering 70-per cent-louder audio than the previous model.
Amazon's Echo devices can now keep an eye, or rather an ear, on your home while you're away.
Epic Games Mega Sale is Now Live
Literally everything on the store is on sale in one form or another and a few games are discounted up to 75% off. Of course, don't forget that you get £10 (or $10) off nearly any game you buy (with the aforementioned caveats).
You can also ask Alexa to play Beats 1 to hear Apple Music's global livestream including in-depth artist interviews- all completely ad-free.
When you enable Alexa Guard, it will serve as your ears around your house.
"When you receive a Smart Alert from Alexa, it is up to you to decide what action, if any, to take", according to Amazon. The truly fearless can even drop in on your Echo to remotely investigate. Amazon notes that Alexa Guard isn't meant to be a replacement for an alarm system, and it isn't able to alert authorities. When you return home, say "Alexa, I'm home" to turn the feature off again.
For traditional security system users, Guard can also be somewhat helpful.
Notwithstanding tuning in, Alexa Guard can likewise copy your every day brilliant light use, exchanging the lights on and off to influence it to appear as though you're home. It was previously available to users in the USA through an invite system, in preview form, and is now being rolled out as a free update to everyone with an Echo smart speaker. Customers can use their voices to arm and disarm their Ring, ADT Pulse, and ADT Control security systems.
