"But Vice President Biden believes that Ms. Flores has every right to share her own recollection and reflections, and that it is a change for better in our society that she has the opportunity to do so". But it was never my intention. "I will fight to build on the work I've done in my career to end violence against women and ensure women are treated with the equality they deserve".
Flores said in a television interview Sunday that although she welcomed Biden's pledge to heed the account of anyone made uncomfortable by his behavior, she believed he should remove himself from contention for the presidency. Biden, who is leading in early polls of Democratic voters even though he has yet to say whether he will run for president, denied misconduct but said men should "pay attention" when women come forward to recount their experiences. I was just shocked.
Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., who has declared her candidacy, said she had "no reason not to believe" Flores but stopped well short of describing the allegations as disqualifying.

"Yes, I think he's ready if that's his decision to move forward in this presidential campaign", he added. On April 1, Goldberg said, "It would've been nice if [Flores] had turned to him and said: 'You know what J, I don't really like this". "I'm grateful to the president and the vice president", the freshly minted defense secretary said, glancing back at Biden, "for your trust and confidence, and to the U.S. Senate, as well, for their trust and confidence".

I'm not saying I would welcome such behavior coming from Biden or any other man approaching me in a professional situation. However, Biden's tendency to invade women's personal space was often written off as one of the laughable idiosyncrasies of "America's Favorite Uncle" (because there's nothing more hilarious than an uncomfortable woman, right?).
Flores isn't satisfied with Biden's response, saying he fails to acknowledge that such behavior is inappropriate, "period".
The next time Stephanie Carter saw the Bidens, she wrote, she was moved to tell them how very bad she felt that "his attempt to support me had become a joke and even more - supposed proof positive that he didn't understand how to respect women".

She said she approached New York Magazine about publishing her story and that the magazine had fact-checked her piece after she submitted it. A lot of people have been sharing pictures of her with other politicians or analyzing her body language in the picture with Biden, to construct an argument as to why she shouldn't be allowed to complain about her interaction with Biden.
