U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown will not run for president in 2020. Thank you for your support as I ran for re-election in OH, and thank you for your support as we traveled the country on the Dignity of Work tour.
Brown says he made his decision just a few days ago.
Brown, who was re-elected to the Senate to a third six-year term last year, had recently visited several early primary/caucus states including Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada and SC. "That's why I'm confident it will continue to be a focus for Democrats in 2020, and I plan on making sure that happens". When Brown won election to his third Senate term in 2018, he was the only Democrat to win statewide, in part by holding the support of tens of thousands of Trump voters. Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg also confirmed he wouldn't be running.
His decision is certain to increase speculation that former Vice President Joe Biden, another Democrat with a history of appealing to working-class voters, is likely to enter the race.

He has career averages of 9.7 points on.535 shooting, 8.7 boards and 1.6 blocks over 28.4 minutes a night. Bogut signed a two-year deal with the Sydney Kings on April 2018.
Not only are other candidates starting to talk about the dignity of work, voters across the country are demanding it. Also, U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders, an independent from Vermont, said he'll run as a Democrat - as he did in 2016 - for the party's presidential nomination.
Believe me, we will fight. His announcement comes after he weighed a 2020 bid and spent two months touring early voting states as part of a campaign to call attention to workers across the country.
"We're doing a dignity of work listening tour", Brown told CNN about the tour.
Brown is now one of four Democrats who have announced in the last week that they would not run for President in 2020.
Brown was re-elected to the Senate last fall and has been one of the few Democrats to win a statewide race in OH in recent years, raising hopes among some in the party that he could carry his home state against President Trump.
