James Harden accuses National Basketball Association ref of 'personal' vendetta

Chris Paul pulled a questionable maneuver on Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, locking down an armbar while battling for a rebound in the winding minutes of the first half. The rest of the way, they hit just 36.4 percent on field goals, 3-of-18 beyond the arc and did not even attempt a foul shot. The calls took away Houston's best player and resulted in two turnovers during a close part of the game.

Rockets guard Chris Paul also spoke out after Thursday's game saying he met with National Basketball Association officials about Foster's officiating.

Foster was deemed far and away the worst National Basketball Association ref in a 2016 Los Angeles Times anonymous survey "with almost three dozen National Basketball Association players", receiving more than two-thirds of the votes and 10 more than runner-up Lauren Holtkamp.

In a 2016 survey conducted by the Los Angeles Times, players and coaches named Foster the worst referee in the league - by a significant margin.

Paul also fouled out in Thursday's loss to the Lakers and was called for a technical foul by Foster with 33 seconds left when he disputed a foul on him called by Foster on a Brandon Ingram drive. Paul revealed that his gripes with Foster go way beyond this one game, to the point that he "met with the league with him before and all this stuff" about gripes he's had with Foster's officiating performances in the past. Foster will eventually officiate another Rockets game, and the cycle will begin anew.

Jurgen Klopp: 'Dejan Lovren close to Liverpool return'
I just believe they could have given themselves a better chance by creating more at Anfield. We'll need to score if we want to get into the next round.

"For sure it's personal, for sure", Harden added.

Paul had less to say, mainly because he's said similar things about Foster before.

"I don't know what else to do", Paul told reporters, according to ESPN's Rachel Nichols. Despite not having his sidekick in Paul, Harden has delivered. But he's not the first player to claim Foster is an issue, so maybe these comments will finally push the National Basketball Association to look into Foster's job performance and league-wide relationships.

"Like I don't think he should be able to even you know, officiate our games anymore, honestly".

Foster called only two of the fouls against Harden, but both occurred at critical times.
