Lleyton Hewitt claims Bernard Tomic threatened him and his family

Asked if there was a rift between him and Hewitt, he said: "Not really". "Like, literally. If you've retired, why are you still in tennis?".

Andre Agassi suspects there will only ever be one victor in Australia's Davis Cup war. It's weird. And now he loves them. And it's for his pay cheque, yep.

Hewitt said he was disappointed comments from a "clown" like Tomic had overshadowed the efforts of emerging young stars at the Australian Open such as de Minaur, Alex Bolt and Alexei Popyrin.

Hewitt denied favouring any players, and said he'd welcome any investigation by Tennis Australia into Tomic's allegations. 'Whatever Grand Slam it is, after a first round loss he will come out with something.

Hewitt said Kyrgios wasn't lost to the Davis Cup cause but needed to match the cultural standards set by the team and he hadn't spoken to him about attitude and his controversial comments on social media.

Past year he even appeared on Australian reality TV show "I'm a Celebrity". You know what I mean?

"The biggest frustration is I feel like I really went out of my way to help Bernie. spent a lot of time with him one-on-one at a lot of tournaments", Hewitt said. He still kept making the wrong mistakes.

"I probably took a lot for granted and I said regretful things in my own life about captains when things didn't go the way I wanted them to go".

"I had to draw a line in the sand and that will continue".

Carol Channing, legendary Broadway actress, dies at 97
Kennedy's death. "Who are the diamonds in the rough that go upstream against everything?" said Channing. Her offstage resume was expansive, often curious and relentlessly fun.

Kyrgios hastily deleted his "poll" which appeared to back up Bernard Tomic's suggestion on Monday night that Hewitt has played favourites with recent Davis Cup selections.

"The threats I've received for me and my family, that I've had for a year and half now, I don't think anyone would reach out to a person who speaks like that".

He said the threats had been "blackmail and physical", saying the alleged threats have involved wife Bec Hewitt, but it remains unclear if his children Ava, Mia and Cruz were also mentioned.

Hewitt added that both Tomic and Kyrgios were not living up to the standards set for Davis Cup selection, pointing to Kyrgios' outburst on social media during Alex de Minaur's second-round win.

"It's one clown making a silly comment, and that's the main news", Hewitt said.

"It's not easy if you don't get the support from certain players, but Lleyton has won more battles than that". "If it is true then it's a bit worrying, I've got to say ... if you're Thanasi Kokkinakis, your ranking was pretty high and you get overlooked by somebody who is within the management team, then you would wonder".

"So, for me, I kind of just laugh it off and move forward".

He added: "Probably the first two years that I was in this role, Bernie and Nick were my two priorities so for Bernie to come out and have a go but more to get all his facts wrong, that's probably the most disappointing thing".

Hewitt said it was "Bernie being Bernie and losing and going on and complaining".
