Police Capt. Gregg Rector this morning identified the man who was killed as a 21-year-old from Hueytown but did not give his name. Among the injured was a 12-year-old girl.
The injured 18-year-old was in serious condition when an ambulance took him to the hospital, police said.
Rector said the incident started at 9:52 p.m. when the 18-year-old and another man got into a physical altercation on the second floor of the concourse area of the Galleria, near the entrance to the Footaction store.

Following her arrest, the woman was sent to a hospital for a check up to determine if she's suffering from a mental illness. The suspect said she wanted revenge on the man for dumping her after she had supported him financially for seven years.
Witnesses and police who arrived on the scene described the scene as chaotic, as gunshots sent the crowd into panic.
