Saul "Canelo" Alvarez has signed the richest contract by any athlete in sports history after putting pen to paper on a massive $365 million deal for his fights to be shown on the sports-streaming service DAZN.
Alongside a photo of Mayweather defeating Alvarez during their light middleweight title fight in 2013, he wrote: 'It didn't matter if Canelo ate his PED (performance enhancing drugs) steak or not this night, this was by far the easiest fight of my career!
Whilst Alvarez will still fight under the Golden Boy banner, his connection to DAZN could allow for fights with English fighters signed with Hearn.
Alvarez will next fight on December 15, when he faces off against Rocky Fielding at Madison Square Garden.

The boxer is represented by Golden Boy Promotions, the stable led by former champion Welterweight Oscar De La Hoya, the highest pay-per-view earner in boxing before Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao arrived on the scene. "He's extremely happy", De La Hoya told ESPN. He is now with the New York Yankees.
News has emerged that Canelo Alvarez has agreed a monster deal to fight on DAZN for the next five years in a deal that could send shock waves through the sport.
ESPN reported that Alvarez's deal with DAZN, which runs through 2023, is the most lucrative long-term athlete contract in history. "The most important thing to me was being able to give the fans the opportunity to see me fight without having to pay the US$70 or US$80 for my fights on pay-per-view. I can't say what's going on on Khabib's end, but on my end we can make it happen". It literally takes me 1 night and 1 fight to make what you might make in 5 years and 11 fights! "DAZN has the flawless platform to make this dream come true, and with the biggest star in the sport at the helm of this journey, I have no doubts that we will succeed in unimaginable ways". "He said, our first meeting with him over two weeks ago, he came to our office and said, 'I've got a blank check, I'm not leaving until we make a deal.' And he put his money where his mouth is". "I know how important I am to any platform I go to".
