Antonio Brown's truancy is loudest, but could be least of Steelers' problems

Speaking Tuesday, Tomlin said the starwideout has not asked for a trade, despite missing Monday's meetings, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Star wide receiver Antonio Brown did not turn up to the Pittsburgh Steelers' facility on the same day he tweeted a comment about being traded, head coach Mike Tomlin has confirmed.

Surely, Brown's absence on Monday will not fuel even more speculation about divides within the team's locker room.

Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, Brown's agent Drew Rosenhaus said that Brown's tweet "was not in reference to anything other than Antonio responding to a person he knows".

Canelo Álvarez edges Gennady Golovkin by majority decision in classic fight
Gennady Golovkin suffered his first ever loss, in Las Vegas , when he was edged out on points by Saul "Canelo" Alvarez . Golovkin and Alvarez took to the ring exactly a year ago in an absolute classic which ended in a split decision draw.

Asked if he's exhausted of Brown being the same player he's asked about repeatedly regarding social media issues, Tomlin bristled, then pointed to his team's 0-1-1 record heading into a Monday Night Football matchup with the 2-0 Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The team's best player not showing up for work the day after he visibly harangued a member of the coaching staff and engaged in a snarky social media exchange with a former team employee - all this just days after he apologized for an implied physical threat against a member of the national media - is further evidence of a team whose culture is leaking. I'll address that very directly with him. Any idea he was asking for a trade is not accurate. I just don't believe it's appropriate. I think this forum is a very professional one. That's frustration associated with not playing well and not winning.

Tomlin laughed when asked if Brown told the team he wanted to be traded. "No".

If Brown does continue to miss work, this could put the Steelers' season in jeopardy early.

Pittsburgh sits at 0-1-1 after tying the Browns in Week 1 and losing Sunday's shootout. We have a lot of football things to talk about - performance, personnel, opportunities, challenges - that the game of football presents. "He's a competitor, and he wants to be the best in the world, and he probably is the best in the world". I will say this: It's important that we understand our position, the light that shines on us, and the responsibility that comes with it.
