Dry eyes: Tesla's Musk says he shed no tears in interview

The 47-year-old's hostility towards Unsworth stems from the diver's comments he made about the billionaire's submarine, which he said "had absolutely no chance of working" in the rescue. Following the comments, Musk tweeted his unfounded "pedo" claim, and doubled down in another tweet: "Bet ya a signed dollar it's true". After receiving requests online that he help in the Thai rescue efforts, Musk, together with SpaceX and Boring Co. engineers, developed a mini-submarine that the stranded children could use to escape the flooded cave system. He deleted both tweets soon after.

On Friday, Musk backtracked on that announcement and said that the company would remain public. L. Lin Wood, a defamation lawyer based out of Georgia, tweeted a letter earlier Wednesday dated to August 6, 2018. CNN has obtained and reviewed a copy of the letter. "I also spent considerable time listening to current shareholders, large and small, to understand what they think would be in the best long-term interests of Tesla".

It's unclear if Musk read or reviewed the notice.

In response to Musk's most recent tweets, Unsworth told Sky News that he couldn't comment, but did note, "It's all being dealt with, that's all I can say".

Shooter at Madden Tournament Was Participant
A Twitter message from the winning team in 2017 identified Katz as the victor of the Madden tournament, held that year in Buffalo. Police have yet to officially identify all the victims, but several survivors spoke up on social media following the shooting .

"Tesla only sought fair treatment for our customers, and we hope the Ministry now does the right thing by delivering on its promise to ensure all [electric vehicle]-owners receive their incentives", the Tesla spokesperson said. In anger, Musk retorted, calling the caver a "pedo guy" on Twitter.

The multi-billionaire hasn't been shy about his awareness of the blockchain sector, either - in Janurary, Musk joked that the Boring Company flamethrowers would have "the safe word "cryptocurrency" [and come] with a free blockchain". Still, his decision to keep Tesla public may mean the agency keeps a close eye on his public statements for the foreseeable future.

Wood, Unsworth's attorney, said via email that his firm is "representing Mr. Unsworth pursuant to a written engagement agreement and are not providing services pro bono".

Musk then asked Olanoff multiple times why he hadn't investigated the matter and ended the exchange by suggesting that Olanoff was not a "truth-seeker" because he didn't investigate why Unsworth hadn't sued Musk. Musk said in a tweet last week that he was no longer pursuing a plan to privatize Tesla.
