Trump Forging Ahead With Putin as Democrats Demand He Cancels

Russian President Vladimir Putin regards U.S. President Donald Trump as a negotiation partner at their upcoming talks in Helsinki, the Kremlin said Friday.

Trump said he plans to raise Russian election meddling and arms control issues in his meeting with Putin and that he is "not happy about Crimea".

Trump is due to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin - who has denied election meddling - in Helsinki on Monday for a summit that includes a one-on-one meeting with only interpreters present.

For US President Donald Trump, a summit with Vladimir Putin risks a political backlash at home and overseas. "We do have to talk to them, but we have to do so very clear-eyed and that is it is a complicated but important relationship". As for Johnson, who was recently deposed, Trump said: "I think he would be a great prime minister.

We'll be talking about Ukraine". I will be asking that question again. "I don't remember any pro-Russian (US) presidents, but I want to remind you that he (Trump) is one of the most pro-Russian politicians at the moment in the United States". Despite the USA intelligence community's assessment that Russian Federation mounted a sophisticated hacking and interference campaign in the 2016 election, as president Trump has repeatedly pointed to Putin's denials of responsibility.

"GRU officers who knowingly and intentionally conspired with each other, and with persons known and known to the Grand Jury (collectively the "Conspirators"), to gain unauthorized access (to "hack") into the computers of USA persons and entities involved in the 2016 US presidential election, steal documents from those computers, and stage releases of the stolen documents to interfere with the 2016 USA presidential election", says the Justice Department.

Earlier British newspaper, The Sun, revealed criticisms of Theresa May and her Brexit policy made by President Trump in an exclusive interview.

While Trump said on Thursday that he expects the Helsinki summit to be "just a loose meeting", some at home are hoping it will be a "non-event" with nothing groundbreaking.

The United States and Russian Federation are by far the world's biggest nuclear powers. He answered by blaming former President Barack Obama for not doing enough at the time to respond to the crisis. "These units conducted large-scale cyber operations to interfere with the 2016 US presidential election".

Game of Thrones racks up 22 Emmy nominations
The two drama series picked up 13 and 12 nods respectively, and both were recognized in the coveted top drama category. While that rang true to a degree, " The Looming Tower " did not break into the limited series race.

Among the Twitter reactions: Top Democrats are demanding that Trump call off the Putin summit - and not always in the most pleasant language.

No matter how many times Trump tweets and alleges this is all fake news or a witch hunt, it is not.

Though Trump declared that North Atlantic Treaty Organisation was stronger thanks to his behaviour and reaffirmed the United States commitment to the alliance, the Brussels summit could hardly have gone better for the Kremlin, which has long sought to exploit and widen cracks among Western nations.

"We will resist Russia's aggression", Democratic Senator Mark Warner and Republican Senator Marco Rubio said in an op-ed in USA Today on Thursday. "So he knows what he's signed up to", Macron said.

"What do the Russians have on Donald Trump, politically, financially and personally?"

'I think that really hurts our country and it really hurts our relations with Russia, ' Trump said.

The Finlandia Hall congress centre, where the two leaders and up to 2,000 of their officials and diplomats will meet, has been freshly painted.

Indeed, very little happened in Brussels that had not been planned well in advance; apart from Trump sparking an unscheduled discussion about defense spending.

According to a tweet from Bloomberg White House reporter Jennifer Epstein, the Trump-Putin summit is now still a go.
