Las Vegas Releases Early Odds For Daniel Cormier-Brock Lesnar Superfight

WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar attended UFC 226 on Saturday night and appears destined for a return to the sport to face the new UFC heavyweight champion. He is now the UFC light heavyweight and heavyweight champion, becoming just the second fighter in the promotion's history to hold two belts simultaneously. Cormier invited Lesnar into the Octagon and Lesnar promptly shoved Cormier as a mild fracas ensued. "Your days are in the past. In the stone age".

Cormier: Hey Brock, get out of my Octagon.

Lesnar referred to Miocic as a piece of crap and then said to Cormier, "I'm coming for you mother [expletive]!" That could mean a title defense of his 205-pound belt before facing Lesnar for the heavyweight championship. He just saw an opportunity to ignite a potential big-money fight.

"We're not talking about a fight right now", White said.

"Push me now, you go to sleep later". Lesnar last competed in UFC in July 2016. Lesnar won the fight via unanimous decision, but it was later changed to a no-contest after the positive tests were revealed.

"Fine, stay broke", Cormier said.

The other semifinal will be played on Wednesday between the winners of England-Sweden and Croatia-Russia. Four years ago at home they were humiliated with a 7-1 defeat in the semi-final to Germany.

'I'm at a point now where it's going to be hard to fight a Curtis Blaydes or a contender at 205, ' Cormier said in the post-fight press conference. "Do it the right way".

The "impromptu" moment has clearly been in the works for some time - a point hammered home when UFC supremo Dana White confirmed after the show that the pair would meet in a match down the line.

Cormier, who is also the current UFC light heavyweight champion, mentioned during his post-fight press conference a desire to fight again this year before concluding his career in 2019.

He is in Vegas for Saturday night's UFC 226 event. He said he doesn't know the specifics, but Lesnar and Vince McMahon have a good relationship and Lesnar wouldn't do anything to piss off McMahon. "He's not going to do anything to piss Vince off".

Where this leaves WWE is anyone's guess, though the company obviously needs to get their Universal Title off of him (which has actually been the case for months given Lesnar's lack of a presence on WWE television). The next time he is expected to wrestle is at SummerSlam at the Barclays Center on Aug.20.
