GEOFF JOHNS May Have Revealed Exactly When WONDER WOMAN 2 Takes Place

Now, the film's own executive producer seemingly confirms such speculation.

A small look at Wonder Woman's next big-screen adventure has been revealed.

Wonder Woman 2 will be iconic in many senses.

Fans may recall that the initial "Wonder Woman" was set in 1917 amid World War I. This time, however, the film will be centered around the Cold War.

Filming begins soon on the eagerly-awaited Wonder Woman 2, with director Patty Jenkins returning to helm the movie.

Following Johns' post, Jenkins has the logo as her Twitter takeover image. Jenkins told Entertainment Weekly, "The story will take place in the USA, which I think is right". Then again this film is about a war, so none of that would probably make it into the final film.

Jenkins also has previously confirmed that Kristen Wiig (Bridesmaids) will be playing Wonder Woman's nemesis Cheetah in the sequel.

With DCEU's Wonder Woman Gal Gadot and Patty Jenkins broke the glass ceiling. The first movie was released a year ago, surpassing records at the box office for a woman-directed live-action film. Critics hailed it as the best DC film since The Dark Knight. The film also starred Chris Pine as love interest/spy Steve Trevor, Connie Nielsen as Wonder Woman's mother, Hippolyta, and Robin Wright as the warrior Antiope.

Wonder Woman 2 is now sated for a November 1, 2019 release.
