Representatives of European Union countries at the G7 meeting in Quebec agreed that the conditions to readmit Russian Federation to the group of advanced economies were not yet met, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said on Friday. However, following Mr Trump's online outburst against Mr Trudeau, the French president issued a statement that "international co-operation can not be dictated by fits of anger and throwaway remarks".
"By any reckoning we will have a final communique", Merkel told journalists on the final day of the summit in Canada, which has been held amid anger towards the United States for imposing tariffs on allies, circumventing the World Trade Organization (WTO) in the process.
