Tim Tebow homers on first pitch in Double-A debut

Tebow plays for the Mets' Double-A affiliate Binghamton Rumble Ponies.

This is not the first time Tebow has gone deep in a minor league debut.

With two runners on as he stepped to the plate for his first at bat in AA baseball, Tebow swung at the first pitch he saw and hit it out of the park. It's just one at-bat, just one pitch.

"I'm trying to improve every single day, so to get off to a good start definitely gives you confidence".

Disney's Sky News move eliminates obstacle to Murdoch's £11.7bn takeover
Sky has also proposed a softer option which is the "legal separation and comprehensive ringfencing" of Sky News within Sky. Disney's move on Tuesday would untangle the process by, in effect, leaping over Fox to acquire Sky News directly.

The former Heisman Trophy victor and National Football League quarterback began his baseball career last season, hitting a combined.226 with eight home runs and 52 RBI for New York Mets affiliates at Low-A Columbia in SC and High-A St. Lucie in Florida.

"He's another ballplayer. I understand all the excitement because it's Tim Tebow", Wilpon said. "I'm really looking forward to it". "He's a hard worker". He was hampered by a left ankle sprain and had been used exclusively as a designated hitter or pinch hitter.

Tebow, who was promoted to Double-A despite batting.226 past year, attracted record-setting crowds. He went 1-18 with 11 strikeouts with the big league team during spring training. The 30-year-old Tebow is in his second full year in the minor leagues, having split the 2017 season between Low-A Columbia (S.C.) and High-A St. Lucie (Fla.) in the New York Mets' system. "That's kind of the name of the game, finding a spot where he's comfortable in the hitting zone".

"A lot of people rag on him for doing what he's doing".
