Buffalo Bills draft Josh Allen, Tremaine Edmunds

The first round of the 2018 NFL Draft kicked off tonight, with former University of Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen going to the Buffalo Bills as the number seven pick.

- "If I could go back in time, I would never have done this in a heartbeat".

I don't know the inner-workings of the NFL. "Obviously, there's some things that have been said about him, about his (completion) percentages and some tweets that he tweeted out when he was 16 years old".

"I don't think I'm an inaccurate quarterback", he said. "I apologize for what I did".

Wyoming coach Craig Bohl said Allen had "great relationships with his teammates and our fan base" and Allen "embraced diversity" while at Wyoming. The tweets, first discovered by Yahoo, are now deleted but included the n-word.

It was out of Allen's control as to where he was going to be drafted, but the Bills might have been the worst possible landing spot for him in terms of his chances to stay in the National Football League for a long, long time.

Allen, who was a teenager when he wrote the tweets, grew up in a small town in California with very few black people. "He's a good kid and we've all made mistakes". Six years ago, I put in on my shoulders.

For some, the news of the Bills drafting Josh Allen came with pure excitement. "My teammates, my coaching staff, they know that's not who I am". 32 overall to the Baltimore Ravens, who traded back up into the first round to take him. "Go have the night of your life!" "If you gave most of us a platform early in high school, I'm sure our immaturity would have shown as his did". However, he spent much of draft day answering questions about tweets with racial slurs he sent while in high school. He hit it straight on.

"It's something that I've considered", Allen said. He said he's going to feel out the room and decide whether he will address the group about the tweets.

"It's been a pleasure to have a young man of Josh's work ethic and competitiveness in our athletics program", said UW Athletics Director Tom Burman. He led the Hokies in tackles with 109 last season.

Last week, Beane emphasized how "one of the main jobs of a GM is to find a franchise quarterback", while adding, "you have to have one". - Chris Szucs, a Cleveland Browns fan who lives in North Carolina. However, while Taylor might have been able to hold off the raw talents of Josh Allen or Sam Darnold, it's hard to envision the uber-competitive and more NFL-ready Baker Mayfield being content on the bench for too long.

An NFL draft scouting report billed Allen as likely being "the biggest boom or bust quarterback prospect in the draft".
