CBSE to Reconduct Class XII Economics, Class X Maths Exams


The CBSE on Wednesday has announced re-examination in the Class 10 mathematics and Class 12 economics subjects in the wake of reports of the paper leak leaving students shocked as majority had found class 10 maths question paper easy.

"Dates for fresh examinations and other details shall be hosted on the CBSE website within a week", the CBSE notification said. "However, it will cause upset for students who have been impacted by the decision as they will be taking other exams alongside the re-sit papers", Ashok Kumar said.

"I understand troubles of the students", Javadekar said while addressing a press conference.

"It seems some kind of gang is behind this and it is doing it deliberately". Cabinet has approved for National Testing Agency to come into effect from next year to ensure leak-proof examination, HRD Minister said. There were also reports that the maths question paper was leaked. The CBSE had, however, then waived aside those claims.

On March 26, Class XII CBSE students were left appalled following the rumours of their Economics paper being leaked on social media hours before the examination. In the case of accountancy paper leak, CBSE had ordered an investigation.

The class XII economics examination was held on Monday and X maths examination on Wednesday. Earlier, the board had denied any leak of the question paper. CBSE issued a circular stating that the dates would be announced on the website in a week.

A parent from Anna Nagar said, "We have booked tickets to go on vocation as our son scheduled to finish his board exams on Wednesday".

The Maths question paper of today carried most of the questions which have NCERT solved examples. Some students have even begun an online petition asking CBSE to cancel the re-examination, saying it was not fair on the students who had taken exams with complete honesty.
