Above-freezing road temperatures will eventually decrease below freezing this morning, while precipitation chances will increase.

"With mild temperatures in the 60s, the heavy rain begins Tue morning and lasts on and off throughout the evening, with 1" to 3" of rain possible by Tue night.

"There could be slick spots out there even with MoDOT and KDOT treating the roads".

No medal for Lindsey Vonn in the super-G
Vonn hit back at Trump supporters on Twitter Saturday after they expressed excitement over the Olympian falling during her race. Everyone was watching Vonn at the beginning because she was the first racer out of the gate on a sunny day with nary a cloud.

Go ahead and keep an umbrella and raincoat handy, and be prepared to drive slowly. They saw that the forecast was calling for heavy rain in the early morning hours so they held off treating the roads since the rain would just wash it away. Highs will range from the lower 20s northwest to around 40 southeast with gusty northerly winds under a mostly sunny to partly cloudy sky.

The Weather Service said the chances for rain are 100 percent Monday, 90 percent Monday night and Tuesday, and 30 percent Tuesday night, with possible rain totals of a quarter- to half-inch Monday and again Tuesday, and some freezing rain possible mixing in Monday night. Please be careful if driving overnight into Tuesday morning. We need to watch this closely, because arctic air can sometimes be colder and move in faster than expected. The high for the day will reach only 29 degrees, so any water on roadways has the potential to refreeze. Let's get through the next few days - so we can all bask in the milder spring-like weather next week! Be sure to check back for regular forecast updates, as this active weather pattern hangs around.
