January 17, 2018 - Police uncover evidence suggesting McArthur was responsible for both Kinsman and Esen's deaths, along with the deaths of other unidentified people.

Police have said Lisowick, a 47-year-old of no fixed address, was never reported missing, but investigators believe he was killed sometime between May 2016 and July 2017.

The new charges are in connection with the deaths of Majeed Kayhan, Soroush Mahmudi and Dean Lisowick.

Sgt. Hank Idsinga said at a news conference that he dismembered remains of at least three victims were found hidden in the bottom of large planters in the backyard of a Toronto home that McArthur, 66, used as storage for his landscaping business.

Cadaver dogs were seen on one of the properties located in Toronto's Leaside neighbourhood last week.

"We've never seen anything quite like this with the number of crime scenes that we have to process", said Idsinga.

McArthur, who is in custody, was originally charged with two counts of first-degree murder earlier this month.

Investigators have also seized other planters to go through them and have identified at least two other sites to be excavated. "It encompasses the City of Toronto", Idsinga said.

Police had said McArthur had a long-term sexual relationship with Kinsman, but Idsinga refused to discuss what if any relationship he might have had with the other victims. "It is unprecedented and draining".

Police identified McArthur as a potential person of interest in the disappearance of Andrew Kinsman in September 2017. "He's an alleged serial killer and he's taken some steps to cover his tracks".

"I think the common thread in (Project) Houston were all three men were from the gay village... and they were all men of Middle Eastern decent..."

"It certainly encompasses more than the gay community - it encompasses the city of Toronto", he said.

Esen frequented the Gay Village area and Kensington Market and often had a small plastic suitcase on wheels similar to a carry-on bag, police said.

Mahmudi, 50, was reported missing by his family in Scarborough in 2015.

The disappearance became part of a police probe called Project Prism launched in August.

June 26, 2017 - Andrew Kinsman, 49, is reported missing from the area of Parliament and Winchester streets. Lisowick and Marmudi were not known to openly identify with the gay community, police said.

Officers arrested him after uncovering evidence that also linked McArthur to the death of Esen.

Toronto police are expected to provide an update this morning on the investigation into accused killer Bruce McArthur.

Anyone who owns property that McArthur worked on as a landscaper is urged to contact investigators at 416-808-2021.
