The Palestinians insist that they should establish an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital in the final settlement.
Netanyahu has not yet made any public statements about the anticipated cut in U.S. funding to UNRWA, but Israeli media reports have said that the Israeli Prime Minister, wishing to avoid a humanitarian disaster in the Strip, has quietly urged Washington not to follow through on its threat.
The protestors condemned the USA policy which biased to the Israeli occupation and they expressed their solidarity with the Palestinian people and the Palestinian detainees' families.
Trump also threatened last week to cut aid to the Palestinians, and Netanyahu offered him praise in his own comments Sunday.
"We pay the Palestinians HUNDRED OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS a year and get no appreciation or respect", Trump tweeted.
"They don't even want to negotiate a long overdue peace treaty with Israel", the U.S. leader added. With Israel now unashamedly formalising and expanding its occupation, it will take the efforts of millions of people like Tamimi to beat back this US-Israel nexus.
"This is the proper way to shut down UNRWA and to ensure that real refugee problems are cared for, should any remain [once UNHCR criteria for recognizing refugees are applied to the Palestinians]".
Health officials warn of widespread flu cases
Public health officials recommended people call different pharmacies if they have trouble finding Tamiflu medication. Healthcare providers around Greater Williamsburg still have flu shots available to the public.
UNRWA was established by United Nations General Assembly Resolution 302 (IV) of December 8, 1949, to carry out direct relief and works programmes for Palestine refugees. "UNRWA was created upon a United Nations decision and no entity can affect its presence", said the official whose department provides services to meet the needs of Palestinian refugee camps communities in the Kingdom.
"It also perpetuates the right of return narrative in order to eliminate the state of Israel", he added.
Observers say that UNRWA's funds cuts may provoke tensions with Israel, as the body is one of the main channels for delivering aid to the Gaza Strip.
An internal Foreign Ministry report last week argued that cutting funds to UNRWA "may worsen the humanitarian situation and lead to catastrophe, especially in Gaza", adding that the burden of providing the services UNRWA now provides will be placed on Israel.
UNRWA said Tuesday that it had received no official notification of any USA aid cut and reports quoted American officials as denying there had been any.
Peace talks between the Palestinians and the Israelis have been stalled since 2014 due to Israel's continued expansion of Jewish settlements in the Palestinian territories.
Thus, even though Putin can talk with all sides in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and is seen by the Palestinians and their supporters as more viable than Trump as a mediator, this does not mean that he can broker peace between them.
