State Rep. Amy Stephens, (R-Monument), was awarded the Mental Health America of Colorado's Legislator of the Year award on March 1. Mental Health America of Colorado celebrated its 20th annual Legislative Education and Advocacy Day earlier this morning.
“I was honored to receive this award,” Stephens said. “The work of organizations like these deserves to be recognized. I am glad to take part in this event and see the accomplishments of other leaders celebrated, but mostly I'm proud to see Colorado's support and appreciation for mental health services.”
The theme of LEAD was “Peers Affecting Change.” The focus was about learning how men and women living in recovery from mental health conditions and substance use disorders are leading the way to making Colorado healthier.
Stephens received her award at the Sheraton Downtown Denver.
