Tuesday, June 18, 2013 – The El Paso County Black Forest Slash and Mulch Program will reopen on Thursday from 5 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Slash materials being accepted are: tree and bush trimmings, pine cones, and pine needles. No stumps or roots will be accepted. The site is located on the east side of Herring Road, just south of Shoup Road. The El Paso County Black Forest Slash and Mulch Program is a wildfire mitigation and defensible space effort sponsored by El Paso County and staffed entirely by Slash and Mulch Committee (SAMCOM) volunteers.
The program is free to El Paso County citizens.
The Slash and Mulch site will resume site operations starting Thursday, June 20, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday, June 22, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, June 23, from 12 noon to 4 p.m.
