Monument takes pride in town: Second annual copmmunity clean-up day on May 25

Community residents who want to volunteer their time to cleaning-up and making Monument look beautiful can take part in `Take Pride in Monument Day.'

The second annual `Take Pride in Monument Day' will take place on May 25. Residents can come out and take pride in the town by helping with projects around the community, planting flowers and cleaning-up and minor exterior home repairs in the town for those who need it.

“Last year was the first time we had that and it was pretty successful. We had lots of participation and volunteer support. We covered multiple areas,” Tom Tharnish, public works director for the town, told the Monument board of trustees at the May 6 meeting.

The board of trustees signed a proclamation at the meeting designating May 25 `Take Pride in Monument Day.'
