Academy School District 20 will be providing a safe place for K -12 students who have been affected by fire or have been evacuated from the fire to come and receive support

From 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on June 17 and 18 there will be a room for each grade level Pre K , K- 2, 3 - 5, 6 - 8, and 9 - 12 at the Education Administration Center at 1110 Chapel Hills Drive. Students will be involved with age appropriate activities. Crisis counselors will be available if students would like to talk to someone.

Research shows that one of the best ways to help children deal with a crisis is through providing social supports as well as normalizing their feelings and crisis reactions. Parents will also have the opportunity to discuss their reactions and concerns with trained professionals and receive information on how to help their children through this natural disaster. Laptops will be available for parents needing to access resources.
