AFA provides resources for military/DOD families affected by fire
The Airman and Family Readiness Center at the United States Air Force Academy activated its Emergency Family Assistance Control Center at Building 6248 in response to the Black Forest Fire.
Military and Department of Defense families affected by the fire can contact the EFACC at 719-333-3444, 719-333-3445 or 1-800-379-1455.
The EFACC, open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., provides communication and information in a centralized location through both personal contact and telephone information services. The center has representatives from the base mental health office, chaplains, the base legal office, finance and airman and family services, as well as military family life consultants.
The El Paso County Disaster Assistance Center, located on Garden of the Gods Road west of Centennial Boulevard, also stands ready to assist El Paso County residents affected by the Black Forest Fire. The center is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
