Apple Arcade is already available on the iPhone, iPad and the Apple TV, it is also coming to the Mac when Apple releases macOS Catalina. If you're wondering how to play these games on your Mac, it's worth remembering that many Arcade games support Xbox and PlayStation controllers.

The news that iTunes was shutting down was first announced back in June, with Apple deciding that the app was simply too cluttered to continue with.

Another new feature hitting the Mac world with Catalina is Sidecar.

With Catalina, Apple is bringing Screen Time from iOS to macOS. Sidecar runs on a wired connection so users can charge their iPad as they work, or on a wireless connection for greater mobility, using everything from illustration apps and video editing apps to 3D apps, like Photoshop, Illustrator and ZBrush. Some of the apps using the technology include Twitter, GoodNotes, TripIt from SAP, and others.

Catalina is available now for all Macs from 2012 or newer. Downtime lets users schedule time away from their Mac, and App Limits allow control over how much time users spend with specific apps, websites and categories of apps.

The Music app gives one access to Apple Music on their Mac including its library of over 50 million songs. Even though the new operating system has been in beta for months, updating your Mac today will lead to a few annoying issues that you might want to wait for Adobe to iron out.

There are also a number of significant security enhancements, including T2 chip support for Activation Lock and tighter security prompt integration with Apple Watch.

With Sidecar, iPad Pro and Apple Pencil owners can draw on their iPads display in apps like Adobe Illustrator and iWork and the content will show up on their Mac. Games are synced across devices, meaning you can pick up where you left off from one device to another.

Additionally, the Safari browser now boasts an overhauled start page which uses Siri suggestions to recommend frequently-visited sites and bookmarks.

Any creative professional will tell you that it's not a good idea to update to the latest version of any operating system the day it comes out.
