As laws governing autonomous vehicle technology are still evolving in the U.S., Tesla cautions drivers using the function to "remain responsible for the auto and monitor it and its surroundings at all times".

Other features include "Car-aoke", which lets you sing your heart out while driving, as well as security and convenience features which are all detailed in Tesla's blog update. It's really cool technology that shows just how far ahead of the rest of the industry that Tesla are, as no other automaker are even talking about features like Smart Summon. The update will be rolled out the Tesla owners this week in stages.

Most excitingly, Smart Summon finally becomes available for those who have purchased Full Self Driving (FSD), or Enhanced Autopilot or who have purchased a vehicle more recently since Autopilot has become a standard inclusion. No need to remember where you left it, it'll come to you. In China, Tesla is also rolling out Ximalaya, a podcast and audiobook streaming service. You'll only be able to use those via the screen while your car's parked, and Tesla plans to add support for more streaming services down the line.

'Version 10.0 is our largest update ever, and is yet another example of how Tesla ownership continues to get better over time'. Again, this is only available while parked, in case you were anxious about distracted driving.

Tesla's new software update has got Twitteratis thrilled.

Outside of the entertainment, Tesla is also expanding the skills of its Summon feature. The second is the feature is only available to Model S, Model X, and Model 3 vehicles.

NASA's new billion deal will take astronauts to the moon
The agency has awarded the Orion Production and Operations Contract (OPOC) to Lockheed Martin of Littleton, Colorado. The company said the first ship would be ready to "carry the first woman and the next man to the moon in 2024".

That's not all though, as there's a "Caraoke" (groan) mode with a "massive library of music and song lyrics, with support for multiple languages," Tesla says.

On mapping, there's also a Google-like "I'm feeling lucky" option that will let you tell the satnav to take you on an adventure - and you can do the same for food, so you'll be taken to a restaurant within range.

Now Sentry Mode video clips are stored in a separate folder on the user's USB drive and older clips are automatically deleted if the drive is low on space.

Cuphead, Studio MDHR's popular run-and-gun action game, is now available in the Tesla Arcade. The update includes UI and options changes, including reduced volume for certain alerts.

Other updates will streamline Sentry mode, and the new mysteriously named "Joe mode" lets you lower the volume for parking chimes and other alerts if you have a sleeping baby in the vehicle.
