The new album arrived as the Beyhive - the singer's hardcore fanbase - began diving into Netflix's Homecoming: A Film by Beyoncé, a live concert film offering a behind-the-scenes look at her critically acclaimed appearances at last year's edition of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. A live album showcasing over an hour and a half's worth of the over two-hour performance is out now. Both the doc and the musical release are based on her groundbreaking 2018 Coachella performance which made her the first black women headliner in the festival's history. While the trailer for the Homecoming film has been circulating on Youtube for the past week, plans to release the performance as an album were kept mum until Beyonce herself tweeted the link at midnight PST.

Since it was teased a week ago, fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of Homecoming: A Film By Beyoncé, which follows Beyoncé in the lead-up to her game-changing headlining "Beychella" set at Coachella past year.

After the release of her highly anticipated Netflix documentary, Homecoming, Queen Bey dropped a surprise album of the same name.
