Rain, with some heavy bursts, will spread up over much of the country this evening and early tonight, turning wintry with some falls of sleet and snow.
Poor visibility, with slippery and icy conditions, will occur at times, Met Eireann warns. "Highest temperatures of 4 to 8 degrees with fresh, gusty westerly winds, strong in coastal areas".
Up to 3 inches of snow is possible for these areas, forecasters said.
