Buffalo Bills dodge a bullet on nixed trade for Antonio Brown

While Brown does not have a no-trade clause in his deal, National Football League players have shown that they are willing to hold out in order to get what they want. However, the likelihood of such a deal seems to be a false flag at this point but it's interesting to note the organizations actively looking for AB's services. He doubled down on the report Friday morning: "The Bills and Steelers have been in aggressive talks about a trade and are close on compensation, sources say".

All along, ESPN did not report about the trade, indicating they weren't sure about it. Brown is due a $2.5 million bonus in just over a week and I'm sure Pittsburgh would rather not pay it.

This stems from a report from the NFL Network National Insider Ian Rapoport. But ultimately it didn't make sense for either side.

Lukaku cut a relaxed figure on Monday afternoon as he strolled through town in jeans and a khaki bomber jacket. We have to do it away from home, but we have eight straight wins away from home.

Pittsburgh had told teams earlier this week that they were hoping to move Brown by Friday.

Congratulations. The Raiders have thus far successfully hurdled the first obstacle of the offseason: not overpaying for Antonio Brown. Other players who could step up in Brown's absence include wide receiver James Washington and tight end Vance McDonald, and the team could look for more help in the draft and free agency.

After the season concluded, Brown asked for a trade and his wish was facilitated after a meeting with owner Art Rooney II last month. Brown, who turns 31 in July, has three years left on his current deal, set to pay him approximately $38 million. Brown's $22.165 million cap hit is now the largest for any wide receiver in the NFL. What's going great for him?
