Will Smith is a buff, blue Genie in new 'Aladdin' teaser

Will Smith's Genie looked like an ordinary guy in the first images we saw of Disney's new live-action Aladdin.

The special look trailer was released online yesterday and shows glimpses of Mena Massoud as Aladdin, Naomi Scott as Jasmine, Marwan Kenzari as Jafar and, finally, Smith as the blue genie.

Barr and I had a detailed discussion on his priorities for the Department of Justice, and on many issues important to Alaska". The Republican president has repeatedly criticised the investigation as a "witch-hunt" and denies any collusion with Moscow.

Ian Hecox pondered if this is the real deal: "Either this is a super clever marketing troll by Disney, and this isn't what the genie will actually look like for Aladdin or". Another tweeted, "In-dustrial Light and Magic, born and raised, In a computer is where I spent most of my days. Aladdin and Jasmine have different outfits, why not just Will Smith in a cool genie outfit", she tweeted, raising a valid point about how easy it is for awful CGI to completely ruin what could have been an awesome movie.

Will Smith just blue himself. Once a role made famous by Robin Williams in the Disney animated movie, the live-action remake has chose to forgo any sort of real digital wizardry in favour of a blue Will Smith with a dash of weird CGI thrown in for good measure. It was fans' first "real" look because, back in December, Entertainment Weekly published photos from the film, including a shot of Smith dressed in Genie clothes but without the character's signature blue hue. "I told y'all I was gon' be Blue!"

Disney has had a lot of animated films released theatrically or direct-to-video, sometimes in collaboration with other studios. So, I think people are going to love it. "Genie looks really bad and too human, they should've went with a totally CGI Genie imo", said another. But let's be honest we can't judge the character by just a few seconds of film, we'll have to wait and see his overall performance as well as the CGI work in the final cut of the film.
