This weekend, Fortnite players were treated to an in-game concert courtesy of Philadelphia DJ and producer Marshmello a.k.a. Christopher Comstock. The Showtime Event takes place at 2 p.m. EST on all platforms. Staging a free concert is a new twist in the game's life, though.
I figured it would be something small. With damage turned off while at the concert, you got lobbies full of 60 people each doing Fortnite dances, the worm, the Marsh walk, and other insane emotes.
Those who missed the event will get to enjoy a repeat performance at 11pm Pacific Time.
When the clock struck two, Marshmello rose to the stage and began the show. Epic Games has been known to do some cool activations within "Fortnite" in the past, so there shouldn't be any worries that it won't go down smoothly or as planned.
Marshmello's show Saturday was only about 10 minutes long, but the set was a brief glimpse at what concerts could look like in the future - and the apparent success of his show only indicates that it's all the more likely now.
Concerned about dying or being eliminated during the Marshmello concert?

The first challenge kicked off earlier this week and required players to "Search a Showtime Poster".
Once you finish each challenge you'll unlock the Mello Made It Right spray, as well as the Keep It Mello emote and Marshy Smasher Pickaxe.
"Fortnite" is known for their skins and emotes that can be bought with the game's currency called V-bucks.
Some Marshmellow-related items will be available in the game too.
