Brendan Rodgers quit his role as manager of Celtic for the bright lights of Leicester or, more specifically, the Premier League.

Rodgers was on hand to witness Leicester beat Brighton and Hove Albion 2-1 at the King Power stadium and will take active charge of the team ahead of their next game away to Watford.

Since then, Lennon has gone on to manage Bolton Wanderers and most recently Hibs, a job he left just last month.

"I'm very privileged and honoured to be here as Leicester City manager and I'll give my life to make the supporters proud of their club".

Rodgers won seven trophies during his time with Celtic, including successive Scottish Premiership titles in 2017 and 2018.

"All I want to do is carry that on - it's not broken and I'm not coming in and looking to revolutionise anything".

" I am returning to one of the biggest and best clubs in world football and I can't wait to get started."

"If they are thinking about leaving, I'd make them think twice".

Prominent sports journalist and talkSPORT host Adrian Durham believes Brendan Rodgers left Celtic Park in a hurry because he is scared of Steven Gerrard's Rangers.

Neil Lennon has been brought in on an interim basis as his replacement and will be assisted by John Kennedy and Damien Duff.

He told Sky Sports: "He loves the club".

Stowell said: "He's just come into the dressing room after the game".

However, we've been given a lifeline in our season and it's up to us to seize the opportunity for ourselves. His achievements are historic.

If he does move to Leicester, he will leave Celtic on course for a domestic Treble - a feat it has achieved in each of the previous two seasons. Brendan has done ever so well at Celtic over the years so it's no surprise that other clubs are watching him and wanting to acquire his services. "Brendan has his way and it's been fantastic, and I have my way".
