Alongside fellow Los Angeles native Paul George, Russell Westbrook is relishing the development of the Oklahoma City Thunder, who have emerged as a genuine contender in the Western Conference.

For the first quarter of Wednesday night's game at Staples Center, it looked like George's performance might be as unremarkable as his first back in IN had been.

[Russell] Westbrook finished the night 3-of-20 from the field - but still finished the night with a triple-double (14 points, 16 rebounds and 10 assists).

Despite putting up a valiant effort for the fourth-straight game, the Lakers fall to 1-3 without James. An injury to Kyle Kuzma left him out for the second half, adding to the growing list with LeBron James and Rajon Rondo joining him on the bench. He is considered day-to-day. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope ended up leading the way for Los Angeles, scoring 25 points on six-of-14 shooting.

Los Angeles' Brandon Ingram had 17 points and a season-high 11 rebounds.

The Thunder now sit at a record of 24-13 and are third place in the Western Conference.
