But authorities declined to say whether they had found the body of Kelsey Berreth, 29, what led to the arrest of Patrick Michael Frazee and what motive there might be for Berreth's disappearance and slaying. De Young said the company where Berreth worked as a flight instructor, Doss Aviation, had accounted for all their planes and that police had no reason to believe she used someone else's plane.

Frazee was the only person arrested in the case as of Friday morning, De Young said, and officials wouldn't provide any more detail about how they came to the solicitation charge.

Formal charges will be filed against Frazee in about 10 days, District Attorney Dan May of the 4th Judicial District said at a Friday news conference.

Frazee's attorney, Jeremy Loew, said Frazee was cooperating with investigators and had submitted to a DNA test and a search of his cell phone. Data indicated Berreth's phone was near Gooding, Idaho, at the time the texts were sent.

This booking photo provided by the Teller County Sheriff's office shows Patrick Frazee, the fiance of missing Colorado woman Kelsey Berreth, who was arrested Friday, Dec. 21, 2018, at his home in the community of Florissant, Colo.

The most recent search was conducted Tuesday after eyewitnesses told Colorado Springs' KRDO News that they had spotted him the previous day dropping off trash at a Teller County waste management facility.

"Her voice was fine", Cheryl said, noting that they discussed "small things" such as a recipe.

Frazee was arrested and charged with first-degree murder and solicitation to commit first-degree murder on Friday in the disappearance of Berreth, his fiance.

Dozens of people called and emailed the KPIX 5 newsroom asking what the phenomenon was, but so far the reason behind the lights remains a mystery.

She was spotted on surveillance video with their 1-year-old daughter at a Safeway in Woodland Park that day and her cell phone pinged about 800 miles away in Idaho on November 25.

Frazee was the last person to see Berreth alive, investigators said.

Berreth was last seen on Thanksgiving at a grocery store near her home in central Colorado.

Police started looking for Kelsey Berreth on December 2 at her mother's request. She was reported missing earlier this month by her mother, who lives in Idaho.

Family and friends started a Facebook page to spread and gather further information on her whereabouts. Frazee is focusing "on parenting the child he shares with Ms. Berreth", Loew said. "This is completely out of character".

Investigators with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, the Woodland Park Police Department and the FBI were seen leaving Berreth's house Thursday with large brown bags. "She's reliable, considerate and honest".

"I can not stress enough that this is a hard time for Kelsey's family", the police chief said.

De Young confirmed that Berreth's phone had pinged off a tower in southern Idaho and that was where it ended up.
