The film's gross collection on day 1 was around Rs 74 crore (net Rs 61 crore). It is the first Indian 3D movie directed the great director Shankar.
Noted trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the box-office numbers of Hindi version of "2.0". Keeping in mind the fact that it's a dubbed film + advance bookings opened very late, the biz is STRONG. It is said that from November 29 to December 2, 2.0 has collected about Rs 400 crore across the world. However, the sci-fi saw a drop in collection on its second day, collecting Rs 18 crore.
Worldwide totally, 2.0 has comfortably grossed more than 90 CR on its first day, according to conservative estimates.
Out of the ₹74 crore, the Hindi version of 2.0 contributed about ₹21 crore, while collections from Tamil Nadu stood at ₹20 crore. In TN as a whole, the film has grossed close to 18 CR which is Rajini's 2nd best opener in the state below Kabali, but Shankar's career best.

Well, this time the makers have made a sequel of the film into 550 crores, so the expectations are also high.
The film also stars Amy Jackson and Sudhanshu Pandey in pivotal roles.
