Novak Djokovic's return to the world number one spot, just five months after slumping to his lowest ranking in 12 years, leaves little doubt that he is one of the sport's greats. He had pulled out of the Paris Masters on Wednesday citing an abdominal injury, and now it turns out that he also required a small operation on his ankle.

The finalized lineup consists of Djokovic, Roger Federer, Alexander Zverev, Kevin Anderson, Marin Cilic, Dominic Thiem, Nishikori, and Isner. Karen is the first Russian with the title at this level since Nikolay Davydenko in Shanghai 2009 and also the first player born in 1996 who achieved that. Six years later, Thomas Enqvist claimed another indoor Masters 1000 title in Stuttgart after a dominant run against higher-ranked rivals, overpowering Gustavo Kuerten, Marcelo Rios, world number 1 Andre Agassi and Richard Krajicek for four Top 10 wins in a row and his second Masters 1000 title.

"It's one of the biggest titles in my career so far".

"I'm very, very happy and proud about it".

Donaire wins WBA bantamweight title after Burnett retires with back injury
Taylor comes from Scotland and will have the hometown advantage going into the fight. Donaire will take on WBO champion Zolani Tete in the semi-finals in early 2019.

But he has seemingly rediscovered his start of the season form, with a very good showing in Paris with impressive wins over Kohlschreiber and Dimitrov, and pushing Djokovic to the brink.

Novak Djokovic reclaimed the world No.1 ranking on Monday after a two-year absence and is assured of finishing the year there. "It's a tournament I've always wanted to compete in, and this year I have that chance".

Djokovic, on the other hand, was a little disappointed and revealed after the match he was not feeling too good on the day after fighting the flu during the week.

So, if the shoulder injury that hindered him in the Paris Quarter-Final against Khachanov has been dealt with properly, he will be a force to reckon with in London. "He absolutely deserved to win the match today". But already an established player, a top player. I've got to take the mentality of going out there and being loose.... What more can I ask for?
