Prosecutors say she confessed to police, calling it a moment of "insanity", BBC quoted the local media as reporting. Tests reportedly showed that DNA from the tooth and other samples taken from the blender matched the missing lover.

The suspect said she wanted revenge on the man for dumping her after she had supported him financially for seven years.

The crime was discovered after the man's brother reported his sibling was missing to Al Ain Police.

According to Khaleej Times, the woman told the prosecution that she butchered the victim - who was in his 20s - to get back at him for dumping her.

The woman claimed she then cooked his body into in a rice and meat dish known as machboos, which she served to nearby workers, according to the newspaper.

The woman killed her boyfriend and then chopped and cooked his remains before serving them to workers three months ago but the felony only recently came to light when a human tooth was found inside her blender. After serving some portions to the workers, she later "threw the rest of the remains to the dogs in the neighbourhood", the report said.

During questioning, the woman's friend said she didn't witness the killing but noticed blood stains in her home.

Police have said that the investigation is still open and the woman will be brought to trial once it's complete.

Following her arrest, the woman was sent to a hospital for a check up to determine if she's suffering from a mental illness.
