Stephen Jackson To Andrew Wiggins: "I'll Catch You In Traffic"

The Brooklyn Nets, LA Clippers and New York Knicks are the possible destinations that shooting guard Butler has identified having requested a trade away from the Minnesota Timberwolves. (See Leonard, Kawhi). And Vegas thinks the Sixers are the most likely new team for Butler to start the season on.

So on June 22, 2017, with the Timberwolves on the clock - though the trade between the Bulls and Timberwolves for Jimmy Butler had been agreed upon - they "selected" Markkanen. The team is reportedly looking to part ways with Noah before training camp opens next week, either through a trade or buyout. But the promise of potential and future success alongside Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins appears to not be what interests Butler at this time. Butler is set to become an unrestricted free agent in July. Players signed this summer can't be traded until at least December 15 (and, in specific instances, January 15), which greatly reduces Minnesota's flexibility to make the best deal it can for one of the league's elite wing players.

This type of path would make sense for Minnesota.

Jimmy Butler has decided he'd like to play elsewhere.

Donald Trump would accept 'a little delay' on Brett Kavanaugh
Kavanaugh denies the allegation, but his accuser, Christine Blasey Ford , came back with an offer to testify publicly to Congress. The fast-developing story has set Kavanaugh's nomination on an uncertain course, just days ahead of a scheduled committee vote.

The Knicks are shopping Courtney Lee, who is amenable to being traded to a contender. Thibodeau, hotly pursued as a coaching free agent after leaving Chicago in 2015, went to Minnesota because he thought the team would be ready to contend quickly. But the organization can ship him anywhere, especially if another team can send a better trade package that will help the team.

Meanwhile, if the Clippers have not traded for Butler, odds are they don't make the playoffs and thus keep their lottery protected first round pick.

Wojnarowski said via Twitter that Butler is most keen on the Clippers, stating: "The appeal of partnering with a second star - the Clippers have two max contract slots available in summer free agency - is an intriguing scenario for him".

So, is it to risk losing next summers' draft pick along with other players in order to get Butler in a guaranteed spot with the team? The Athletic first reported Butler's decision. This is no time to be stubborn and if Thibodeau decides otherwise there soon could be someone else in charge at Target Center.
