Police respond to active shooter on west side

The Dane County Communications Center said police had received multiple calls about a gunman around the Deming Way block.

Another employee says she ran for her life after hearing gunshots.

"Please lock all doors, stay inside and shelter in place", the Middleton Police Department said Wednesday.

Police have not released details on whether there have been any injuries. She didn't have any other information. WMTV reports victims were transported to University of Wisconsin hospital.

Gabe Geib, a customer advocate at Esker Software, said he was working at his desk when he heard what "sounded like claps". She said it was 'a devastating loss'.

Three people were shot and injured in a workplace shooting in Middleton, Wisc., on Wednesday morning, a city about 6 miles outside of Madison. She said the shooting was "totally unexpected". She says it shouldn't be odd that a black woman is knocking on doors in 2018. "We have a good group". He said he then saw people running away from the building at "full sprint".

At least 40 people were gathered in the hotel's parking lot, waiting to be interviewed by police.

The motive for the shooting, which appears to have unfolded in an office building, is not yet known.

An employee at WTS Paradigm, who witnessed the shooting, told the Wisconsin State Journal that the gunman was also an employee with the company.

A shopping center next to the building was temporarily put on lockdown at the direction of police.
