More trouble for Tesla after executives resign

Fox News reports that Elon Musk and podcast host Joe Rogan were seen on camera during an interview smoking marijuana.

Towards the end of the broadcast, Rogan lit up a large marijuana-and-tobacco-filled cigarette and offered it to Musk.

"You probably can't [take a drag] because of stockholders, right?"

"I mean, it's legal, right?" asked the Tesla founder, before taking a drag on the joint. Both Rogan and Musk are based in California, which this year became the largest US state to legalize the recreational use of weed. Tesla noted in a statement to Reuters that Morton opted to depart from the company due to his discomfort with the level of public attention and Tesla's overall pace of work. Musk also gave broad details about how the plane would be powered.

While it is, again, another chapter in the "wacky adventures" of Elon Musk, I suspect that this is going to be another faux pas in the coming days.

If such a system is connected to your auto, it could calculate when you'll be home and start the air conditioning at the optimal time to save energy, Musk said.

Morton joined Tesla on August 6, one day before Musk's infamous tweet claiming that he had "funding secured" to take Tesla private.

Tesla Inc shares fell almost nine percent on Friday as the resignation of its chief accounting officer after just a month at work spooked investors amid another social media storm around billionaire chief executive Elon Musk.

Japan hails Osaka, Nishikori's historic run at US Open
Until Osaka's run this year, the best NY performance by a Japanese woman was 2004 when Shinobu Asagoe reached the quarterfinals. Aliaksandra Sasnovich , who bested Kvitova at Wimbledon, fared even worse and had to endure a humbling 0-6 0-6 loss.

Tesla shares, down just 1 percent after Musk's appearance on the Rogan podcast overnight, fell another 7 percent after Morton's resignation to $262.54.

"I don't think you would necessarily want to be me; you wouldn't like it that much", Musk quipped. "Every now and again I get drawn in and it's not good, you can make some mistakes".

Chief accounting officer, Dave Morton, resigned after being with the company for one month, citing intense public attention.

"As a result, this caused me to reconsider my future".

Shares of Tesla shares have declined more than $100 in the aftermath of the go-private dalliance.

As for the podcast, alcohol was already flowing early in the conversation - Rogan pulled out whiskey.

Tesla was not immediately available for comment.
