This season's Tour Championship includes a $10 million prize to the victor. That scenario happened just two other times in time in FedEx history that dates to 2007 - when Camilo Villegas won the Tour Championship in 2008 and Vijay Singh had already clinched the FedEx Cup; and after the format was changed, Phil Mickelson won the Tour Championship and Tiger Woods took the FedEx Cup in 2009.

Englishman Rose is considered one of the favourites as he is coming off a pair of runner-up finishes, while Finau has been consistent all season and was recently selected for the U.S. Ryder Cup team.

Live coverage will begin from 6.30pm over the first two days on Sky Sports Golf, with coverage getting underway from 5.30pm on Saturday and 5pm for the final round.

"Compared to the current system, the beauty here is in the simplicity", said Jay Monahan, the PGA Tour commissioner. The new Wyndham Rewards Top 10 $10 million bonus will recognize the top 10 players who earn the most FedExCup points through the Wyndham Championship, the final event of the regular season. Then they showed us the data on how many people understand it, especially golf fans versus non-golf fans.

Instead of a points reset at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, beginning with the 2018-19 event the TOUR is instituting a strokes-based bonus system related to the FedExCup standings through the BMW Championship.

Meanwhile, the PGA Tour also announced a new incentive program created to reward the players who have the best regular seasons.

The vaccine, which is also available as a mist, is recommended for adults of all ages and children 6 months and older, she said. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention does not recommend any influenza vaccine over another as "preferred".

The next five in the rankings will begin at four under par, with scores regressing by one shot for every five players until those ranked between 26th and 30th, who will start at level par.

Day concedes he continually measures himself against his breakout 2015 campaign, when he captured the US PGA Championship among five US Tour wins that catapulted him to a debut world No.1 stint. Or you could have the best 72-hole score and not win the tournament.

That seemed to change a year ago at this event, when Xander Schauffele won the Tour Championship at +8000.

He would need the current number one, Bryson DeChambeau, to finish absolute last to have any shot of being crowned the unlikeliest of champions.

"Even a five-win year, I still looked for ways to improve because there is always something to improve and I feel I can win even more than (five)". The first playoff event at the Northern Trust will feature 125 players with a cut down to the top 70 for the BMW Championship.

All of which makes Tuesday morning's announcement at PGA Tour headquarters in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. seem all the more radical. "So we wanted it to be something that our players embraced and fully supported". FedEx last year agreed to a 10-year extension, and the bonus pool for the postseason now is $60 million (along with $10 million in bonus money for the regular season).
