Golf's PGA Tour Champions has announced it will return to Japan next year, with payment services company Mastercard title sponsoring a tournament in Tokyo.
Brandt Snedeker shocked himself as much as anyone with his 11-under-par 59 in the opening round at the Wyndham Championship on Thursday.
The 37-year-old, who made ten birdies, an eagle and a bogey in his 11-under-par score in Greensboro, North Carolina, became the tenth player to break 60 on the PGA Tour. Jim Furyk is the only player to do so twice and has the lowest round in history with a 58.
"I better be smiling", Snedeker said.
"After I birdied seven, my 16th hole of the day, I knew I was 10 (under) with two to play", he said. Snedeker is the first to shoot 59 since Adam Hadwin in the third round of the 2017 Careerbuilder Challenge.
It gave him a four-stroke lead after one round. Mackenzie Hughes of Dundas, Ont., shot a 2-under 68 to finish in a tie for 45th, while Ben Silverman of Thornhill, Ont., was 1 over in a tie for 116th.

A "source" told The Daily Beast that Franklin said "no amount of money" would persuade her to perform for him at the inauguration. It was at a Knightdale dance recital in 2015 when Johanna Colon heard the Queen of Soul and stole the show.
He ran off three birdies in a row after making the turn, all from within 5 1/2 feet, and sandwiched two more short birdie putts at the par-5 fifth and par-3 seventh around his greatest shot of them all: a hole out from 176 yards out in the fairway for eagle at the sixth.
"But even if I don't; there are plenty of options for me to have enough PGA Tour starts next season". ". I had a chance at 59 playing in China. and I had a putt on the last hole for a 59, and I kept trying to push it from my mind, push it from my mind, and [the thought] just kind of got in the way".
"It wears on you and you've got to be really strong to overcome that and just know that it's going to happen, you just don't know when, where, or how", Snedeker said. It was really special to know I'm part of a small club on tour.
Their group will also include 2016 Wyndham Championship victor Si Woo Kim and fans can follow their full round on ESPN+.
Scores are routinely low at the Donald Ross-designed course, with 2017 victor Henrik Stenson setting a tournament record with a 22-under 258 a year after Si Woo Kim tied the previous mark with a 259, so the chance is there for players to move up the standings.
